Mrs. Greeves'
           2nd Grade

(AKA: Ms. Trujillo's)

Syllabus

Behavior Management

Each student has a colored strip on a behavior chart. Green indicates that they are in compliance. Yellow indicates that they have had 2 warnings for non compliance. Red means they have had 3 warnings for non compliance and at that point must call home. They will also be taking home a behavior citation. After a student has received 5 behavior citations, they will be referred to the head administrator Ms. Belmore for redirection. The students may earn their green if they can change their behavior.

Classroom rules are largely based on those found in your child's student handbook. Infractions to those rules will result in your child "flipping" their strip. In severe cases, students may receive further reprimand or redirection by an administrator.

Tests/Grading

Tests are worth 40% of your child's overall grade. Take home projects and homework make up 25% and in class work makes up the remaining 35% of your child's overall grade.

Your child has 1 chance to make corrections to any test, before receiving a final grade. In these cases I will indicate answers which are wrong and they will correct them once without assistance. I will then record the grade they received the second time around.

Schedule

Parent Teacher Conferences

Our school operates on a trimester schedule. So you will be required to attend one parent teacher conference every trimester. Flexible scheduling is available.

You also have the option of scheduling a PTC at any time during the year for grade assesment or to address any concern. Simply give me a call and we'll set up a time and date that works best for you. Phone conferences are also available (for informal conferences only).

Homework

Homework will be sent home every Monday except during and will be due back the following Monday. It will be in in the form of a review packet or research/art project. Homework can be found in your childs homework folder which I collect and refil every Monday. This Policy is subject to change in the event of a holiday or school recess.

I will accept homework 1 day late for a 25% reduction of credit. In the event a student is absent, It is up to them to get their classwork, as it is online weekly and they have the number of days excused to make it up. (example: Suzy has been absent 4 days. Of those days 2 of them were excused. Suzy returns on the 5th day and now has 2 days with which to make up any missed work).
